Tom Foster grew up in a small town just south of Omaha, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska where he obtained an undergraduate degree and did graduate work in political science. He later received masters' degrees in economics and in business administration. After service in the U.S. Air Force, he relocated to the Houston area where he worked as a budget analyst for NASA at the Johnson Space Center. His work has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions and he has won a number of awards. Exhibition venues include Rayco Photography Center (San Francisco, CA), Rockport Media Center (Rockport, TX), Bosque County Conservatory (Waco, TX), Lubbock Regional Arts Center (Lubbock, TX), A. Smith Gallery (Johnson City, TX), The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake (Nassau Bay, TX), Wittliff Gallery of Southwestern and Mexican Photography (San Marcos, TX), Stages Theater (Houston, TX), and Houston Public Library - Central. Foster presented a one-person exhibition of "Boxing" at the Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library (Clear Lake, TX). He is a member of Houston Photographic Society, Houston Center for Photography and Texas Photographic Society. His photographs are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Cold War Museum in Reston, VA.
